NOVEL CONCEPTS IN SUPPORT OF CLINICAL MANAGEMENT OF AMR

An optofluidic microwell structure for the rapid determination of the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of antibiotics

Broth microdilution is the gold standard for the detection of antimicrobial resistance. The technique is however time consuming and requires a lot of hands-on time. ESR12 will develop an integrated low-cost, real-time polymer-based photonic lab on a chip (PhLoC) to continuously monitor cell cultures with the final aim to evaluate the minimum inhibitory concentration.

Specific profile requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field with background in organic chemistry, immunochemistry and bioanalytical systems
  • Open minded and ready to work in a multidisciplinary environment where it will be required to learn and apply complementary disciplines related to photonics , microfluidics, etc.
